IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE
PFAS for Vermont Water System
On April 10, 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released new regulations for PFAS chemicals in drinking water. We want to assure our customers that we take these regulations seriously and our water is tested regularly for PFAS and other contaminants. New EPA Health Advisories for PFOA and PFOS
The State of Vermont has a Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 20 parts per trillion (ppt) as an enforceable standard. Our water system is below the MCL, however, considering the new health advisories for PFOA and PFOS, the Drinking Water and Groundwater Protection Division are directing us to distribute this Public Notice (see link below) to our customers informing them on the health advisories, providing information about detections for PFOA and PFOS based on our system sample results, and potential health risks from PFOA and PFOS.
